The week of January 26th-January 30 is Celebrate Literacy Week. We are excited and hope that students will enjoy participating in our activities this week. They are as follows...
Monday: Our interactive board asks the question..."What is your favorite book and why?". We are encouraging students to particpate in this through writing the title of their favorite book, the reasoning behind it and then posting it to our board. Our goal is to have the board covered by the end of the week. Each student who participates receives a piece of candy.
Tuesday: Students who return an overdue book this day will have their fine forgiven.
Wednesday: "Get Caught Reading Day! Each hour in the library on this day we will randomly choose a student who is reading to receive a prize. Stop by, grab a comfortable chair and get reading for your chance to win!
Thursday: We are hosting a "Book Swap." Do you own a book you are tired of reading? Looking for something new? Bring your books and stop by in the morning before school. We will gather in the fiction section of the library, discuss books, trade them and enjoy donuts and juice.
Friday: Our monthly CHS Book Club meeting takes place today during the 20-minute reading period. Interested in joining our Book Club? It's not too late! Stop by and ask to speak with Mrs. Nay to have your name added to the list.
Also....the CHS Book Club in conjunction with DTV produced a music video. Stay tuned to DTV so that you don't miss the premiere of this video!
